Dear Friend of the Dimon Institute,

Many of you joined me in September for a read-through of F.M. Alexander’s account, “Evolution of a Technique.” If I were stranded on a desert island and could bring only one piece of writing with me, this would be it – it’s that important to me. It’s a story of someone who overcame a serious physical problem so thoroughly that in doing so he learned how to live in a balanced, conscious way. The knowledge that Alexander conveyed in this account was so impressive and appealing to me that I immersed myself in it for many years.

But it’s not easy to say what that knowledge is, or how to learn it. This became especially apparent to me as a training director when I needed to distill my own insights and ask myself what it is that I know and how I learned it. Over the years I’ve worked very hard to clarify this.

That’s what this month’s course on Sensorimotor Awareness is about: a clearly articulated curriculum for how to learn what this subject is really about, and how to gain the knowledge that Alexander expressed in his story. I hope you’ll join us for our 8-session course to explore this fascinating subject.
